Pipeline reconstruction at the Velenje Coal Mine

The Velenje Coal Mine boasts a very long tradition, having been in operation since 1875. More than 264 million tons of coal have so far been extracted from its depths. While in the early days it produced around 3,500 tons of coal a year, its current production volume ranges around 2 to 2.5 million tons a year.

The Velenje Coal Mine builds its story on tradition and its own know-how, with equipment and technologies developed in-house. For many years, it has also been spreading its knowledge, experience, technology and equipment abroad. Since its inception, the Velenje Coal Mine has made significant contributions to the development of the entire region.

Last year (2023), the Velenje Coal Mine reconstructed a line to supply the pit with process and fire protection water. For replacement of the pipeline from the pumping station at e.+120 to the reduction station at e.+234 including the Škale shaft, materials marketed by CMC GROUP were used. We supplied grooved Victaulic flexible couplings S177N, Victaulic fittings with grooves, gate valves and grooved seamless steel pipes DN200 with suitable corrosion protection. The system is suitable for an operating pressure of 40 bar.
